Tulip Festival !

Last weekend I saw that one of my neighbors had gone to the Tulip Festival and wanted to go so bad.. So, now that I have weekends off.. Lonnie and I went. The Festival is in Mt. Vernon in Skagit Valley. It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there.. but was so beautiful that it was totally worth the drive.

They have free parking and it cost $5.00 to get in but have a Military discount, there is a gift shop and a place to buy hamburgers/hotdogs, kettle corn, hot chocolate/coffee.. and a place to buy tulips !!

They planted 250,000 bulbs were planted !! It was so pretty. There was also a daffodil field.

Be ready for picture overload... again :)

Trip to the park...

Today Kayleigh and I drove by Bradley Park on the way to my doctor appointment and I had said that I would like to stop by on the way home..

After the appointment, we stopped by Anthem Coffee and met Lonnie there... then K and I headed to the park.. The Cherry Blossoms are turning from dark pink to almost white... but still so pretty !!  They remind me of Okinawa !

Hi Everyone !!!

Well Hello blog viewers !!! I have noticed that I am getting some "hits" on this little blog !! Thank you !!!!  I would love to know if you visit often, or just happen to find it. And if you feel like it, please follow me and leave me your name and where you are from !! Let me know what you think of it.

I started this blog when my family lived in Okinawa Japan so that my State side family could keep up with what we were doing... and from there I just stated posting fun, random things that we do now that we live back in the states.   We live outside of Seattle Washington now. However, Nick (if you don't know, Nick is my son) lives in Kansas.

Thank you again for reading my blog!!

I got a job !!!

So, a few weeks ago I decided to go out and look for a job, not because I "had" to, but because I wanted to... I applied to LA Fitness by my house for the child care area and waited... I asked the lady at the front deck how long it took to hire or if they give you a notice that the received the application and she said no, but she was the one who looked at the applications after the LA office got them.

Well, about a week later I got a call for an interview with the LA Fitness that is down the street from me. (not across the street) I went in and was hired on the spot !! She actually said that she was really hoping I would say yes !!

I started on March 10th and work the 4pm to 8pm shift Monday - Friday.. except for this month, I work Tues - Friday 4-8pm and Sat. 8:30 am - 12pm.. But only this month !! Then its back to Mon-Fri for this gal !! :)   Everyone seems really nice so far.. I don't work with anyone back in the kids room .. just me and the kids. (except if I go over a certain amount of kids)  I do hope to go to days sometime.. that would be nice to eat with the family again..haha but this is working out.. I still can do things around the house during the day and Lonnie has been cooking dinner at night..

So, yep.. now I work at LA FITNESS.. who would have thought that I would ever work in a gym... LOL !!!!   First day of work pic below :)

Woodland Park Zoo ~ Seattle

Today we met Kimberlee and her family and Aunt Suzie at the zoo !! First, it was so good to see Kimberlee !! We only live 8ish hours from each other, but it seems we only see each other once a year.. that needs to change !  Second, It was great to see Aunt Suzie, she only lives maybe 1+ from me and we have not see each other since 2011 !!  And third, I had not been to Woodland Park Zoo since Kayleigh was 6ish months old (she is 24 now) So, it was nice to see it again.

It was a nice clear day so that was perfect day to be out walking.. and spending time with family !!!  Picture over load to come ~

Mt. Rainier pt 2

So, we headed back to Mt. Rainier to do some hiking.. it was another beautiful day and so we packed a lunch and headed out.  It was so pretty, however... I didn't make it all the way up the trail. Lonnie thinks I (we) did about 6miles total, however, it was a 14mile total hike... so I need to practice some.. so we have other smaller hikes planned. Here are some snaps from the day !

Mt. Rainier

So.... We went up to Mt. Rainier at last !!! I was so excited about driving  up there and seeing it up close !! And it was the perfect day for it, sunny and clear blue sky !!! Kayleigh, Alex, Lonnie and I drove  up and stopped at many places along the way to get out and walk around.  We went all the way to Paradise Point.

There we got out and walked to the visitor center, got something little to eat and then played in the snow !!!  We were not planning on getting in the snow, and had on our tennis shoes.. but it worked out and it was fun. (and a good workout !!)   We are planning on going back up next weekend to do a 14 mile hike.. it should be a long fun day.. here are some pictures of our first day !!
