This week we have had some very special house guests. Lonnie's mom Inge and his Uncle Helmut. Helmut has come from Austria for a visit of the states. They started out in Virginia Beach with Inge, went to TX. to see Kristian and Kristine, on to a few other states and hooked up with Mike on to us in Seattle and then back to DC to see Kim. It has been 16 years since we saw Uncle Helmut and he looks great. The last time we saw Inge was in DC in 2009 at Kim's wedding.  They got into Seattle on Thurs. (6/21) Lonnie went and picked them up at the airport, came to the apt and rested for a few and then off to dinner. Fri. (6/22) Inge and Helmut took the train into Seattle for a little trip on their own. and tonight we are going to go to Lonnie's cousin grand opening of her new shop. On Sat. (6/23) we got up and drove into Seattle, picked up the kids and went out in Seattle. We decided to do the Seattle Underground Tour.. non of us had ever done that and it was fun and interesting to see and hear about the fire of Seattle and everything they went through. After the tour, we walked up to the Public Market and just in time, it was starting to close. We then walked to the restaurant where we were having dinner.. we were early so went and had a drink at Buckley's on 2nd St. Ave.  They were having "Super Hero" night and EVERYONE was dressed up but us.. haha.. we didn't get the notice I guess. Dinner was amazing.. we had not had good Japanese food in a long time. Alex made the reservation at Shiro's Sushi. It was really good and if your in town you should go there and try it out. We drove back to the kids house where we met up with Nick, he had been up for a long time and didn't make it with us that day, but Uncle Helmut and Inge (Oma) got to see him before they left. We got back to the house and because we had to get up so early.. hit the hay. Inge and Helmut left for the airport in the early morning (3:30am) on Sunday (6/24) It was so good to see them again and I hope that we can make it Austria to visit Helmut soon.

Happy Father's Day !!!

Today is Father's Day... and Lonnie had to go to Drill in Seattle. BUT, he will be back to night !! He has been gone for two weeks for drill in Yakima and came home on Sat. night.. I took him out to dinner, movie and drinks, but he was up bright and early to hit the road into Seattle. This year I have decided to buy Lonnie a BBQ. We do not have one and its time to get one. I went and bought the BBQ on Friday, calling to ask Alex to bring his truck so  we can get it home.. Kayleigh and Alex show up to the house on Sat.AM in his CAR..haha..We had to bungee cord it to the top of the car and drive it home. Even the guy helping us from Home Depot took a picture..haha.. I asked him if it was for "People of Home Depot" and he said yes and laughed.. haha.. But we got it home. I also got the things that go with a BBQ, such a cover, tools, and propane.  I hope that he will be very happy !!
I hope you have a great Father's Day.. Your are an amazing father and your children and I love you so much.  Also, a huge Happy Father's Day to MY dad.. Thank you for everything  !! I love you more then you will ever know !
