ACGO In Feb. 2010
Our Army Community Group of Okinawa meets once a month for a social. Our February Social was one of the BEST yet. We were told to arrive by 530pm. The rules were explained and we were given our list. We had until 700pm to complete our list and for every minute you arrived late you had a point deducted. We were divided into groups . My team members were Christine, Cathy, Myself, and another lady and I'm sorry I don't remember her name.. Our team came in first!!! It was a really fun night and I'm glad that I went. Sapporo 2.3-2.6.2010
This month I got to go to Sapporo Snow and Ice Festival ! I went with my friends Alex and Christine Kelly. We had a great time.. although I did freeze !! The first day (2/3) we got up and had to be at the meeting spot by 8:30am. We took the bus to Naha airport and headed to Sapporo. That night we signed into our rooms and then headed out to dinner. We took a cab to this all you can eat shrimp and crab restaurant and had a great dinner. Then we walked around and found the ferris wheel and went on that.. we walked home (got a little lost) and went up to the lounge and had a great drink.
The second day (2/4) we met for breakfast.. now this was interesting... they had everything from eggs to miso soup.. I loved the baked potatoes ! After breakfast we met at the bus to head to Otaru for sightseeing. We walked around, saw some snow sculptures, went to the music box store, and had lunch in the alley that they coverd and made a restaurant. Christine and Alex had ram en.. it looked good, so I got it too...Then we headed to the Chocolate Factory. We got to see cookies being made, and went and had some sweets. We got back on the bus and came back to the hotel for about a hour before we left for dinner. We went to the Sapporo Beer Garden, it was all you could eat and drink for 90min. When we got back to the hotel we went back to the lounge and had a drink again...
The third day (2/5) Snow Festival begins !! We met downstairs again for breakfast. When we were done we met in the lobby of the hotel, and headed to Tsu-Dome, but before we got there we had to take the subway and a bus. We got to Tsu-Dome and headed out for fun. We went snow rafting, went down the ice slide, got some pictures taken. It started snow when we were there. I missed the snow, but then after being in it for a few hours.. remembered why I don't want to live where there is snow..haha.. I WAS FREEZING !!!! Christine and Alex took pity on my and we went back to the hotel so that I could change my socks and dress a little warmer, Then we were off again. We went to Odori Park, we were hungry so we went to McD's for lunch.. then we went to the TV Tower and looked down on Odori Park site. Then we started down the strip to see the snow sculptures. They were wonderful.. some I could not believe were so big. We saw the ice sculptures that were lit up with lights. Some time in there Christine and Alex to pity on me again and found a Starbucks so that I could sit down.. After we saw the things we wanted to see, we went back to the hotel and had a AMAZING dinner.. it was $$$ but so good.
The last day (2/6) we had breakfast and packed up to head back to Okinawa.. It was a wonderful trip with wonderful friends.. Can't wait to take Lonnie next year !!!!!!!!!!
