Dragon Boat Practice 2009

Well, The Army Women's Dragon Boat Team has started their practices.. I'm so glad that I get to be a part of the team again this year. There are only about 10 people from last year rowing again, so we have a lot of new people. We need 32 on race day. Race day is on May 5, 2009. I will be posting pictures from now up through race day. Oh, and Lonnie is the Coach for the Men's Team.. I will get pictures of that this coming Monday.

This year Super Bowl was on our Monday in the early AM... Lonnie and some of the guys got up really early and were at the club by 530am. But smart people like Raquel and myself, slept in until 630am. They had a great breakfast and lunch set up for us. It was nice.. I took the day off of work, but Lonnie had it off anyway.. and they kids got to stay home also to watch the game.. It was a very nice day by all..

Bocce Ball

On the 19Th of this month.. we went with some friends to play Boccee Ball. Bocce Ball is a game that you play with balls about the size of croquet ball, maybe a little bigger. Its a game somewhere between horse shoes and croquet. It was a lot of fun. We played at a park at Kurashiki Dam with good friends the Jim and Michelle Scheiss and Juan, Raquel and Emilio Cisneros.

Our first family picture of 2009. We went to our friends Keith and Ann's house for a "good luck" lunch.. In Korea, black beans bring good luck.. so Ann made a lunch which had black beans in it. Very good!! It is supposed to bring good luck for the year!

Happy New Year!!!!!

This year we didn't get to go back to the states, but we did spend it with good friends here in Okinawa. We went to the O'Club and met up with about 15 of our friends where we laughed and danced 2008 out and welcomed 2009 in!! It was a lot of fun. We hope that all of our friends had a wonderful 2008 and that 2009 brings you everything you want! Happy New Year from the Williams Family!
