Thanksgiving/Spokane
This year we went to Spokane to see my dad for Thanksgiving.. Kayleigh and Alex came with us so it was a nice time. This was Alex's first time in Spokane and to meet Kayleigh's Papa. Lonnie and I got up and headed out to Seattle to get the kids and then we were on the road around 10ish. We brought Molly with us also. We got up to the top of the Mt. on Snoqualmie Pass and pulled over so Alex could jump in the snow...ha ha.. he still gets so excited when he see's it.. We got to Spokane around 5pm and just relaxed and had pizza.. on Friday, we had our Thanksgiving dinner. It was really good.. Chicken, stuffing, pots and gravy, salad that my dad made and corn.. Then we took Alex downtown to see Spokane. We walked around Riverfront Park, Rode the carousel, and went to a few shops. Made a quick stop at my moms house to say hello and then back to my dads for pie. We got up and were back on the road at 9am to be back in time for Kayleigh to work at 4pm.. it was a nice and quick trip.

Wicked at the Paramount Theater
Lonnie took me to see the musical/play of Wicked for my early birthday present last night..It was very good and reminded us of being in Vegas at a show.. So glad we went and had amazing seats in the balcony first row, so we could see everything. Thank you to my wonderful husband for a great gift !!
Here is what the play is about: "Wicked" is a Broadway musical, based off of a book, it's about what happened before and during the events of the movie "The Wizard of Oz". It is about how a girl named Elphaba became wicked when she is ostracized by all of her school peers. But her world is changed forever when the most popular girl in their school, Glinda (previously known as Galinda), is forced to share a room with her. Glinda tries to teach Elphaba how to be popular like her, but just barely succeeds.Nessa, Elphaba's younger sister, seems to be their father's favorite, so Elphaba holds a small yet unnoticeable grudge against her. This musical comedy shows how two very different people can become the best of friends, and how the never-ending war of love can help add to the chaos in-between it all. It is an award-winning musical that is most popular in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, but also has small tours, such as Charlotte, NC. This musical includes many songs such as "Defying Gravity", "I'm Not That Girl", "Popular", and "No Good Deed". As far as inappropriate content for children, at the beginning of the musical while explaining how Elphaba was born green, it shows a man feeding Elphaba's mother green "liquor", then the verse stating, "have another little swallow little lady, and follow me down." Of course there is magic and witches involed, but other than that inappropriate content is rare.
