June 30, 2009
Today is our 19Th wedding anniversary !! This year we spent it snorkeling at Maeda (sounds like Mida) Point. There were so many fish, we took some pictures with a underwater camera so I hope to get those on here soon. When we came home we started getting ready for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Transit Cafe that is on the seawall. We ate outside and got to enjoy the warm day. When we came home we went to our neighbors house Eric and Laura.. I love them.. they are so fun to be around. Lonnie had a few beers with Eric. We came home and put in a movie and got to relax. It was a amazing day!! I love my husband!!

Washington DC 6.22.09
While we were in DC for the wedding, the next day we went into DC for a little sight seeing. It had been 10 years since I was in DC and about 2 years for Lonnie and 4 for the kids. We stopped at the Capital and then walked the "Mall" on our way to the museums. We went to the American History and Natural History Museums. On our way to a "real" mall, we took pictures of the White House, Washington Monument and the Pentagon. In the Natural History Museum there was a Butterfly Habitat with over 400 butterfly's in there. Here are a few pics.
Oma 6.21.09
On the trip to DC we got to meet Lonnie's Grandmother Eva AKA Oma. Oma lives in Vienna Austria. She came to the states for a visit and for the wedding. This was the first time in 23 years that Lonnie has seen his grandmother, and the first time for me to meet her. It was also the first time that Kayleigh and Nick got to meet their Great Grandmother!! In the pictures are Lonnie with his mother Inge and his Oma, Kayeligh and Nick with their Oma.
Wedding in DC!! June 21, 2009
We sure have been the jet-setters these past few months..This month we all flew into Washington DC to watch Lonnie's sister Kimberley get married to the man of her dreams Ibrahim. It was a wonderful wedding at the Islamic Center in DC. I had never been to a Muslim wedding before and I really liked it! The women could not have any skin showing except for their hands and face, so we had to wear scarves that Kim gave us. Also you had to take off your shoes before entering. All the men sat on one side and the women sat on the other. After the wedding we all went to Cafe Nema which it a cafe that Ibrahim owns in DC. (if you ever get to DC.. its a must place to eat!) Afterwards some of us walked with Kim and Ibrahim to a park to do a exchange of vows and rings. It was very nice. We then went back to Cafe Nema for drinks and dancing.. It was a wonderful time and at last the whole family was there!!! (it was the first time all the brothers and sisters were together!!)It was a wonderful time and we are so happy for Kimberley and Ibrahim!!

Shuri Castle 2009
When we were here in 1999-2001 we went to Shuri Castle. The kids were little Nick in 1/2nd grade and Kayleigh in 3/4th grade. We went back to get a picture of us in the same spot, with Nick at the end of 10th grade and Kayleigh just graduating. I will try to find the old picture, but it may be in storage.
Joe Williams comes to visit
This has be a great last few days! Lonnie's dad Joe came to Okinawa to watch Kayleigh graduate and we got to take him around to see some of the sights. We went to Torii Beach to snorkel and to a few places to eat. We also went to Shuri Castle and to Kokusai Street. Lonnie and Joe got to go and play golf a few times.
